Our Approach

Dis-ease is defined as a state of imbalance - where the body’s optimal health cannot be maintained at rest and especially when a stressor is introduced.

We give comprehensive physical exams, including full history, current symptoms, past and recent lab testing and fully understanding the owner’s interpretation of their pet and what might be expected (outcomes).

We look at the endocrine system as a whole, starting with the hypothalamus / pituitary gland in the brain down to the thyroid and adrenal glands in the body and further to the reproductive system. By supporting other organs and the body as a whole, often times disease can be reversed in the initial symptomatic area.

For example, thyroid disease (high or low function) is not ever a disease state alone. The thyroid gland functions within a system and becomes imbalanced when the system becomes imbalanced.

Holistic Medicine

Holistic Medicine

Our practice focuses on the body as a whole. Through our comprehensive physical exams and extensive inquiry about your pets history and current problems we work together with you to come up with solutions that make sense.

Nutrition is the foundation of wellness and affects the balance of all the body’s systems – immune, digestive, musculoskeletal, endocrine, detoxification (kidney and liver), etc.

Nutritional Consultations & Diet Plans

Dr. Teri Sue Wright develops customized diet plans - including raw and home cooked - and nutritional supplementation based on the individual needs of your pet(s), time constraints and what works for you.

Natural, fresh, and minimally processed foods contain all of the nutrients we need to stay healthy. We say focus on anything that you can “pick, grow, or kill and nothing out of a box, bag, or can.”

We feed our pets for convenience. Processed foods cause imbalance and then we seek medical help to "fix" them, and the cycle continues. If we focus on feeding their bodies what they need to stay well, then they have the tools they need to eliminate toxins, fight illnesses, and stay well.

Food As Medicine

Since 80% of our immune system lines the gut, it is essential to keep our GI tracts happy and healthy.

Most of our soils have been depleted and no longer contain enough nutrients and minerals to fortify plants that we eat. Most bodies are in a state of dis-ease or deficiency and supplementing the diet speeds up the process of getting well. It is important that the supplements we take are from whole foods, and not synthetically processed.

Government organizations only measure isolated components of nutrients, resulting in products that are labeled as having high contents of these desirable nutrients. Whole food products come with all of the extra enzymes and co-factors that we need to digest, process, and utilize them. When these components are separated, they don't work effectively and sometimes cause dis-ease themselves.

The Art of Energy Medicine

Applied Kin

Dr. Wright works with your pet during your visit, to establish an understanding of the energetics of your pet’s health. You are a team player to add history, answer questions about what you notice at home, and help us understand more about the social and environmental dynamics, including past experiences, surgeries, etc about your pet. This inclusive, comprehensive approach allows Dr. Wright to create individualized Treatment Plans.

Muscle testing or Applied Kinesiology is a tool to understand the energetic resonance of what your pet’s body needs. She has been muscle testing her patients for over 15 years; the benefit of outcomes is remarkable. Including the use of intellect, recipes and past cases from which to customize protocols, muscle testing is a measurable, accurate tool to find exactly what is specific for her patient’s optimal results.

Treatment Plans then may include protocols to enhance or give your pet energy they need to heal - through ozone, the Scalar Wave technology, diets, supplements, specific exercise alternatives including engaging the brain, etc.

Often, lab testing confirms the protocols after they have been created to know we are on the right track. Testing also provides more information to further our comprehensive treatment protocols - and monitor outcomes.

Dis-ease Monitoring

Once we establish a veterinary relationship with you and your pet, and we embark on specifics about nutrition, supplements and an individualized Plan - the healing journey of your pet should become more noticeable. Keeping the momentum for wellness is ideal - the optimal way to create best outcomes.

Your individualized Plan will include follow up recommendations.  Please recognize our goal, always, is to educate you, the owner.  By following the momentum of your pet’s improvements, we can reach further goals. If not, your pet typically will have returning symptoms prompting another vet visit. We find prevention is a thousand times more worthwhile than symptom management.

We have found through this approach, your pet has the best outcome for a super high quality, long-lived life.

Our goal is that ultimately, healthy dogs live to be 20 yrs old, and cats live to be 30.
